Interwoven Threads Consulting offers various grants and fundraising trainings at the staff and board levels, as well as varying degrees of fundraising knowledge.
We strongly believe and lead with the idea that you and your staff are the experts of your organization's mission and work. This underappreciated fact is at the core of what we call 'learning how to sit in your power', meaning we aim to counter notions of insufficient expertise or education frequently noted by staff when discussing grants and fundraising. Lived experience runs deep in our contributions and skillsets, often in ways we often don't recognize. Sometimes, that simply requires someone to help staff see how their work and efforts contribute to the larger mission.
Additionally, we aim to break down barriers to grants and fundraising knowledge through dedicated trainings. These can be foundational sessions for staff and board members to better grasp the nature of what it takes to meet a nonprofit's financial goals. These sessions are frequently virtual but can be conducted in person, and we are dedicated to leaving your staff and board with tools and next steps to build off of the session's topic.
For training options, contact us to discuss your specific needs. Some examples of training sessions:
How to read and interpret Form-990s for funding alignment and strategy
Introduction to Grant Writing for development staff
Grants 101 at the staff and board levels
AI in grant writing, what to know and what to watch out for
Building relationships with potential funders
Due to the nature of grants and fundraising consultation, we primarily tailor all pricing at a flat fee based on the need of your organization, factoring in the proposed Scope of Work, task complexity, and timelines for deliverables. Utilizing a flat fee structure gives your organization a known monthly expense while having access to us for building a deeper connection to your organization and fundraising needs.
Depending on the need, a consultation contract can be anywhere between six to twelve months with the potential to renew towards the end of the contracted period. The flat fee is divided monthly over the contract period, including a smaller upfront cost to finalize the contract agreement.
Additionally, some services can be provided at a project-based fee for limited or short-term services. This may include:
Grant Application Review
Grant Proposal or Report Preparation
'Top 3' Funder Research
Trainings for Staff or Board
Grants Strategy
Program/Project & Budget Development
Certain CRM & Database Services

Note on Unethical Compensation
As a member of the Grant Professionals Association, Interwoven Threads Consulting abides by GPA's Code of Ethics. Commission (payment when a grant is awarded) and contingency (whether a grant is funded or not) fees, finder's fees (introducing a nonprofit to a funder who awards the nonprofit a grant), and percentage compensation are unethical forms of payment and will not be accepted for services rendered.
Additionally, compensation for services rendered may not be written into grants, unless allowed by the funder.
